A Better Way To Wire Tiny Push-pull Pot or Mini-toggle Switch Terminals
Can Electric Guitar and Bass Upgrade Wiring
Really
Be Simplified?
Ask yourself these three questions.
Do you want to simplify — and speed up — your complex electric guitar and bass upgrade wiring projects?
Need true bypass for older pedals and other gear?
Does soldering wires on tiny switch pins frustrate you?
Do those Jimmy Page
(or other)
"Upgrade from Hell" projects give you heartburn?
We have
The Simple Solution
for you.
Our new
M1-PCB
(M1 Printed Circuit Board)
is
a multi-purpose product
that simplifies electric guitar and bass wiring projects and reduces wiring mistakes. This is one of those
"Why didn't I think of that?"
products.
The M1-PCB is ideal for all your pickup or other switching projects where DPDT mini toggle switch
-or-
push-pull potentiometer switch component is used. It eliminates the frustrating problem of connecting and soldering wires to six very tiny switch pins.
After we released this product, CTS released a push-pull pot with this idea. We thank CTS for acknowledging this as a
"forward-thinking"
product. However, unlike the CTS pot our M1-PCB offers you triple the functionality because it can used in several ways.
Price is for one piece. Specify how many pieces you want. The picture shows both the back and front view of the same M1-PCB.
Here Is How It Works
First, you set the M1-PCB personality (see below).
Next, you solder the M1-PCB to your component (which is either a push-pull pot or a DPDT mini toggle switch).
Now you you solder the wires to the circuit board and they are electrically connected to one of the six tiny pins.
And with our M1-PCB, your effort at wiring the six very tiny switch pins of your push-pull pot or DPDT mini toggle switch cannot get any simpler than this.
You can select which
"personality"
it should take on, merely by cutting clearly marked traces on the M1-PCB circuit board
(
yellow circles
have been added to the pictures to show where the "A" or "B" cuts are made.)
Personality #1
:
Pickup coil phase reversal.
Solder a standard DPDT
mini-toggle switch
or push-pull pot component onto the M1-PCB and cut one "A" board trace. Now you can solder black and red wire pairs directly to the M1-PCB. These wires can be directly connected to both the pickup coil and the input circuit so you can turn the pickup coil Off or On; in either normal-phase or reverse phase. The M1-PCB has an on-board "crossover" circuit so you don't need to hand wire it. You can also use this personality with either of the following components.
DPDT (On-Off-On) mini toggle switch for both On-Off and phase switching control.
DPDT (On-None-On) mini toggle switch
-or-
a push-pull pot for just phase switching control.
Personality #2
:
Put two pickup coils in series.
Solder a standard DPDT
push-pull pot
or DPDT (On-None-On) mini toggle switch component onto the M1-PCB and cut two "B" board traces. Now you can solder black and red wire pairs directly to the board. This configuration lets you "span" two pickup coils to put them into a
series
circuit. And with the release of our revised T4-Switch PCB (REV E2), push-pull pot integration is so simple, it's incredible.
Special Note:
Our T4-Switch product (REV E2) has been redesigned to directly accept the M1-PCB wires to further simplify your complex wiring efforts. This gives you 102 pickup tones from four separate pickup coils.
Personality #3
:
Universal connections.
When you cut all three traces (one "A" trace and two "B" traces) on the M1-PCB, you electrically isolate each of the six switch terminals of either the DPDT mini toggle switch or push-pull pot DPDT switch component so they can be used for any wiring application. This lets you quickly connect or jumper any of the switch terminals. The point-to-point hand wiring is simplified because the wires are attached to the circuit board and electrically connected to the switch component terminals.
The M1-PCB has six separate wire solder connections on the printed circuit board (labeled R1, R2, R3 -and- B1, B2, B3) that electrically connect to each terminal. This means that you can use a
R
ed and
B
lack wiring scheme to visually define any needed pickup coil polarity requirements. Although a powered hand Dremel tool with diamond bit is ideal to cut the "A" and "B" circuit board traces, they can also be easily cut using an Exacto blade. Typical wiring examples are on our website Document Library (www.awesome-guitars.com/0-docs.php).

What You Get
This auction gives you the selected quantity desired of our M1-PCB circuit board.
Note:
Only the M1 circuit board is being sold. The push-pull pots and mini-toggle switches are not included, but are only used to show how the M1 is mounted to these components to simplify your wiring efforts.
Customer Comments
"I really like the M1-PCB because it solves a big headache of wiring the conventional DPDT switch. I consider myself very adept at soldering and wiring but have always hated wiring the switches. This will for sure make that headache go away. I'm using them for two projects I currently have going."
