    Description

Here is an ebony wood, custom made thumb rest for bass guitars.
Handcrafted with pride in the U.S.A. Cut, shaped, sanded, buffed and burnished by yours truly.
Suitable for bass guitars such as the Fender  Precision, Jazz, Squire etc. or any others. It is a direct replacement for the factory Fender mounting hole spacing.
The only difference from the 'plastique' article's shape is this is just a bit narrower with slightly tapered sides, due to the stock I am working with..
I have a small supply of antique ebony, ninety to one hundred ten years old and here is one little piece of it.
This wood is beautiful and interesting.
I've been keeping a pretty bit in my pocket, smoothed sleek, often holding and turning it over and around in my hand, enjoying that wonderful satin feel.
Includes Stainless steel, oval head, Phillips mounting screws. They will never rust.
The screws come from the manufacturer with a
    decent,
slightly matte, surface finish, . I desire to provide more than the ordinary.
I sand, polish and buff the heads to a gleaming shine.
Also, it is proper technique, when starting any of these self-tapping style screws in an already threaded hole:
Place the screw tip in the pilot hole, With very light touch, turn the screw CCW (loosen) and feel for a slight click or dropping, once per rotation.
This is when the screw's thread falls into the original helix cut in the wood.
Then begin turning CW to start tightening in the already existing thread, to avoid cutting an extra path, thus weakening the wood.
I reach to make the highest quality product possible.
Have almost three decades experience repairing musical instruments and precision crafting of wood, plastic and metal.
I am searching always in craft,  for a shape, a proportion, and detail. For the line that sweetly flows. Toward perfection of design and creation.
One of my guiding principles has been the aesthetic of Shaker craftsman, their strength of design and the quality of workmanship.
"We want a good plain substantial article, yea, one that bears credit to our profession and tells who and what we are,
true and honest before all the world, without hypocrisy or any faults covering.
The world at large can scarcely keep pace with itself in it's styles and fashions which last out a short time,
when something still more worthless or absurd takes it's place, let good enough alone."
If you're not completely satisfied with my product's quality, I'll replace/ refund. No ifs, no buts, no nonsense!
