Description
Hello Friends,To date I have made and sold more than 750 ‘71 Quarters for fans of the late Edward Van Halen. I have 2 suppliers that I have purchased nearly 800 quarters from. Due to the national coin shortage it has become difficult or simply not possible for my suppliers to order the thousands of dollars in quarters necessary to sort through and find them. In July one of my sources told me IT TAKES 00 IN QUARTERS to get a roll of 40 D’s. I was skeptical naturally so I decided to order quarters.
I was able to get 50 in circulated quarters (no new rolls) My search through those 6200 quarters yielded just 6 ‘71’s 5 of which were D’s!
Less than half way through I stopped separating out the ‘70 and ‘72’s also to find that by comparison there were more than 20 of each ‘70 and ‘72 vs. 3 ‘71’s! (Stopped because it was slowing me down)
I HAVE ONLY A LIMITED NUMBER OF ‘71 D QUARTERS. I DO NOT KNOW WHEN I WILL BE GETTING MORE SO PLEASE DO NOT WAIT.
If you want a rougher more beat up quarter or have something specific in mind please let me know and I’ll try to accommodate you.
Each buyer will receive:
- 1 authentic 1971 Washington quarter dollar modified (with notch on outside edge) to replicate the one found on Eddie Van Halen’s iconic “Frankenstrat” plus 2 relic’d screws.
- 2 proper size relic’d eye screws
- 2 proper size brass swivel snap hooks
Why buy?
Quarter: The United Stated Mint encountered several issues throughout the minting process of the 1971 Washington quarter dollar. These issues resulted in a great many 1971 quarters being destroyed by order of the US Treasury prior to being circulated. That’s why there’s ust one third the typical amount of 1971 quarters in circulation compared with other years of the era.
Eddie’s passing and the release of the ‘20 EVH Frankie have recently increased demand for ‘71 quarters.
Many people looking to add a ‘71 quarter to their guitar are fortunate and find one. However a great many discover that replicating the features of the Frankenstrat quarter is quite difficult without the proper tools, process and technique.
Eye screws/ snap hooks:
The EVH branded sets are discontinued and were . The dimensions were taken from my set and are guaranteed to fit any EVH Strap. Some online are selling these parts that are not relic’d, are the wrong size and or of poor quality. The snap hooks I use are BRASS! They’re not cheap. They are holding your guitar and mine too. This modification needs to support the weight of your guitar so proper installation is imperative.
(I STRONGLY RECOMMEND HAVING THE EYE SCREWS INSTALLED BY A PROFESSIONAL OR GUIDANCE AT A MINIMUM)

I have 100% buyer satisfaction across multiple selling platforms. Satisfied buyers from 18 countries have purchased more than 750 Frankenstrat quarters from me to date.
It is both humbling and an honor each time I’m chosen to contribute to these iconic guitars. Therefore I take this very seriously because I understand to many this guitar is a cherished and prized possession.
Warmest Regards and rock on!
